Engineering Planner

The Engineering Planner will be responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and allocation of engineering activities in line with operational requirements set by the Maintenance Manager. The postholder will administer the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate, compliant and auditable records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements for building services and facilities maintenance. Additionally, the Engineering Planner will support the development of an Operational Excellence roadmap and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) trackers to monitor performance and trends across engineering activities, alongside undertaking ad-hoc projects and tasks as required to meet wider business needs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for planning and scheduling plant, systems and equipment maintenance to meet the CGT Catapult Maintenance Manager operational requirements  
  • Accountable for administering and general upkeep of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in collaboration with the CGT Catapult Engineering Compliance Engineer 
  • Accountable for carrying out duties in full compliance with current legislative and environmental regulations, policies and procedures 
  • Partake in Training and gain sufficient knowledge to become deputy System administrator of the CMMS 
  • Maintain equipment hierarchy (parent / child relationships) on the CMMS 
  • Create and Maintain a Master Schedule within the CMMS  
  • Create, maintain, review and close Scheduled Job Plans on the CMMS 
  • Plan & co-ordinate Yearly shutdowns in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager 
  • Log and maintain all third-party reports within the CMMS 
  • Provide users of the CMMS with assistance in its use and operation 
  • Analysis of workorder performance and generation of Traffic light reports 
  • Planning and allocation of resource requirements for short- and medium-term needs  
  • Root cause analysis of overdue work orders and plant non-availability 
  • Liaise with engineering and third-party contractors where necessary to ensure efficient scheduling of activities and operation of all systems, plant or equipment 
  • Carry out work in full compliance with the scope of work provided by a GxP procedures and ensure that all documentation is accurately completed and any supporting records etc are completed to GDocP/DI Standards and retained in the GxP Archive  
  • Liaise with engineering and other key personnel to ensure that work is carried out on time and to the correct standard and provide help and advice where necessary relating to CMMS matters 
  • Adhere to safe systems of work to ensure that equipment and substances are safely used and properly stored when not in use 
Experience: 
  • Experienced in the fundamental requirements of setting up and operating a CMMS System 
  • Experienced in Operating the Pharmceutical Sector 
  • Knowledge of the Statutory Instrument requirements for:
        - PSSR 
        - LOLER 
        - COSHH 
        - PUWER 
        - F-Gas 
        - Fire 
        - Electricity at Work 
  • Experienced in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Audit compliance (Eudralex, MHRA etc) 
  • Experience in Lean Practices

Education / Qualifications:
  • GSCE  English / Maths 
  • Recognised industry standard qualification in Engineering Planning operations/BTEC HNC in building services engineering 
  • Enhanced knowledge / Training in Excel, Access and/or SQL Database Management
