The Cell Therapy Catapult, which is focused on the development of the UK cell therapy industry to increase the nation’s health and wealth, is pleased to note the positive review of its progress since inception in today’s report from LifeSciences UK. From vision to action: delivery of the Strategy for UK Life Sciences notes that the Cell Therapy Catapult team has engaged ‘energetically and rapidly’ with the sector, with several collaborations already in place. LifeSciences UK, a partnership between the BIA, ABPI, ABHI and BIVDA, represents the human healthcare industry.
The report is an analysis of the delivery so far of the Government’s 2011 Strategy for UK Life Sciences, reviewing a series of initiatives across the sector ranging from translation of academic research to uptake of innovation and commissioning. We welcome its recommendation that the Cell Therapy Catapult consolidates its ‘early momentum’, which we are focused on doing as we develop new partnerships, grow the UK’s reputation and work with the community to build the cell therapy industry.
