Highlights Cell Therapy Catapult progress and launches new life sciences centre
The UK Technology Strategy Board has launched today its latest discussion of the Catapult network, Catapult Programme Progress Update 2012-2013. It showcases the achievements and progress of the centres, including the Cell Therapy Catapult, which is focused on the development of the UK cell therapy industry to increase the nation’s health and wealth. In addition, it provides further details of two new Catapults, one of which is in the healthcare area – the Diagnostics for Stratification Catapult and the Energy Systems Catapult.
Keith Thompson, CEO of the Cell Therapy Catapult said, ‘With the backing and long-term commitment of the Technology Strategy Board and its focus on business-driven innovation, the Cell Therapy Catapult and its sister centres have made considerable progress over the last year. It’s good to see the healthcare expertise of the UK further recognised with the Diagnostics for Stratification Catapult, which the TSB describes as a ‘rallying point to enable the linkages between biopharma, diagnostics and healthcare systems’. We expect there will be many synergies between the centre and the Cell Therapy Catapult, and we look forward to collaborating with it and the other Catapults over the coming years.’
