Principles and Applications of qPCR
This two-day course will provide an introduction to real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Delegates will be guided by our expert trainers through a theoretical understanding and hands-on experience of the applications of qPCR, relevant for professionals within advanced therapies, biopharmaceuticals and academia.
Learning objectives:
- Understand laboratory health and safety pertaining to PCR workflows.
- Experience testing mock patient samples for SARS-CoV-2 .
- Gain competence in RNA extraction using automated Promega Maxwell kits.
- Gain competence in measurement of quality and quantity of RNA on NanoDrop spectrophotometer.
- Understand RNA degradation and be able to troubleshoot RNA extraction methods.
- Gain competence in setting up and running of QuantStudio 7 Flex Real-Time PCR System
- Understand qPCR Data analysis: data interpretation, normalisation, and statistical analysis.
