ATTC Clinical Trial Specialist Programme Manager

Purpose of Role:

The Advanced Therapy Treatment Centres (ATTC) Network Programme is a groundbreaking initiative, creating a system of ATTCs within the NHS framework, coordinated by CGT Catapult. This network addresses the unique challenges of introducing pioneering Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) to patients. The network has been operational for approximately five years and has secured funding for an additional approximate 4 years. The overarching objective is to expand and fully integrate the network into the NHS and establish the UK as a primary site for clinical trials of ATMPs.

The ATTC Clinical Trial Specialist Programme Manager plays a vital role in the success of the ATTC Network and the acceleration of ATMP clinical trial initiation and execution and ultimately adoption of ATMPs by the NHS. With substantial funding and ambitious goals, the ATTC Network aims to enhance the NHS's capacity and capability to conduct high-quality clinical trials for ATMPs, ultimately increasing patient access to transformative medicines. The ATTC Clinical Trial Specialist Programme Manager will work closely with the Director of ATTC Network Coordination to expedite clinical trial initiation and execution.

Key Accountabilities:

Accelerate Clinical Trial Initiation

  • Work collaboratively with ATTCs, industry partners, National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) bodies and NHS stakeholders to streamline the clinical trial initiation process.
  • Support initiatives to reduce the time from trial initiation to patient recruitment and data collection.
  • Work with the Chief Clinical Officer to identify barriers and develop strategies for expedited regulatory approvals and ethics committee submissions.

Optimise Clinical Trial Execution

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of ATMP clinical trial execution.
  • Collaborate with ATTCs to enhance recruitment processes and ensure timely data collection.
  • Proactively identify and address operational challenges that may impact clinical trial timelines.
  • Implement strategies to optimize the efficiency of clinical trial execution, ensuring that clinical trials are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Engage with clinical trial stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, regulatory bodies, and industry partners, to drive alignment and cooperation.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among stakeholders to ensure smooth clinical trial execution, whilst fostering productive relationships with clinical trial stakeholders to promote collaboration and alignment.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in clinical trial management and acceleration.
  • Track record of successfully expediting clinical trials and achieving milestones.
  • Experience in working with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Equivalent employment experience within the clinical trial / advanced therapy / NHS sector would be advantageous.
