Warehouse Team Leader

Working on a rotating shift basis (early and late), the Warehouse Team Leader will play a hands-on role undertaking the activities of the CGT Catapult Stevenage Manufacturing Innovation Centre (S-MIC) GMP Warehouse. Reporting to the Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader will ensure that the CGT Catapult S-MIC GMP Warehouse meets the standards and expectations of its key stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and Collaborators.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supervision of a GMP Warehouse shift, including ensuring the shift’s adherence to SOPs and health and safety
  • To communicate issues to the Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager or Deputy in a timely manner
  • To be first point of contact for Collaborators ensuring that CGT Catapult service and values are met at all times
  • To ensure provision of effective hand-over to the oncoming shift and to receive hand over from previous shift
  • To make local decisions without guidance to enable shift to complete tasks
  • Complete all Goods-In activities according to schedule, including inspections and safe storage of incoming materials including patient samples
  • Management of the storage, issue, and dispatch of final product(s) in compliance with existing SOPs and as per the schedule
  • Safe movement of materials within the CGT Catapult S-MIC GMP Warehouse, using both manual techniques and lifting equipment where available
  • Safe operation of CGT Catapult S-MIC GMP Warehouse equipment and vehicles, adhering to all health and safety procedures
  • Perform regular/scheduled inventory management , adhering to relevant SOPs
  • Prepare for, and participate in where required, internal/external audit programs
  • Ensure that the facilities are well maintained and are fit for purpose in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that the CGT Catapult S-MIC GMP Warehouse is kept clean, safe and well organised and operates to a high operational standard and complies with GMP, SOPs, and other regulatory standards
  • Participate in regular overtime (including weekends and bank holidays) as required
  • Use of ERP system (e.g. SAP By Design) for ordering and goods receipting

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a Life sciences/Pharmaceutical environment (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a small organisation
  • Experience of supervising a shift-based team
  • Experience of working with standard life sciences laboratory materials/consumables
  • Experience with electronic inventory management systems for ordering and goods receipting

  • Highly motivated, pragmatic and practical to support the mission of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to accelerate the development of a commercial cell and gene-based therapy industry in the UK.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Educated up to at least A level or equivalent
  • Forklift Truck license (desirable).
