Effective PPIE is essential to support the improvement of clinical efforts and investments toward addressing real unmet patient and healthcare needs. However, there remains an on-going challenge around educating patients and the public, and influencing how research is conducted to ensure appropriate PPIE occurs. This is especially relevant when concerning novel and complex advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). This webinar, hosted by the Advanced Therapies Treatment Centre (ATTC) network, will introduce the value of PPIE and co-production in the ATMP landscape, covering who is involved, what it means, why it is important, and how it can be carried out effectively.

The webinar will also highlight the work of, and how to get involved with, the ATMP Engage PPIE Working Group, which aims to facilitate collaboration between UK-based stakeholders with an interest in ATMPs to address PPIE challenges associated with the delivery of ATMPs within the NHS. This activity is supported by ATMP Engage’s current sub-groups which are looking at equity of access to ATMPs, raising awareness, and developing an ATMP Patient Charter.

Clinicians and therapy developers looking to successfully translate their advanced therapies to the clinic by engaging patients and public in their work, are encouraged to watch this webinar.
